What is Ozone Sauna Therapy?
Ozone Sauna Therapy, also known as Transdermal Ozone Therapy, is a therapeutic treatment that combines the detoxifying effects of a traditional sauna with the powerful benefits of medical-grade ozone. During a session, ozone gas is introduced into a warm steam environment, allowing it to be absorbed through the skin and into the lymphatic system.
Ozone (O₃) is a highly active form of oxygen composed of three oxygen atoms. It has been used in wellness and integrative medicine for over 100 years and is supported by a large body of published research. Ozone is known for its ability to support the body’s natural detoxification processes, promote circulation, reduce inflammation, and enhance immune function.
Is Ozone Sauna Therapy Safe?
Absolutely. When performed using medical-grade equipment and established safety protocols, Ozone Sauna Therapy is a safe and well-tolerated treatment for most individuals. Unlike internal ozone applications, this therapy delivers ozone transdermally—through the skin—eliminating any risk of lung irritation. Each session is conducted in a controlled environment designed to maximize therapeutic benefits while prioritizing client comfort and safety.
Who Should Not Use Ozone Sauna Therapy
While Ozone Sauna Therapy is safe and beneficial for many, it is not suitable for everyone. If you have any medical conditions or concerns, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before beginning therapy. For your safety, this therapy is contraindicated for individuals who are:
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Organ transplant recipients
Living with G6PD deficiency
Experiencing severe anemia or bleeding disorders
Managing uncontrolled seizure disorders
Recovering from a recent heart attack or stroke
Experiencing severe cardiovascular instability
Who Makes Our Ozone Sauna?
At NüCell Health, we’re committed to sourcing the safest, highest-quality equipment for our clients. After extensive research, we chose the Ozone Sauna from Recover U Technologies instead of the HOCATT system. One of the key reasons: Recover U is manufactured in the United States—not overseas. This helps us minimize the risk of exposing our clients to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) often found in imported units. Imported units may use lower-quality plastics, adhesives, or synthetic materials that off-gas harmful chemicals, especially when heated. Quality, safety, and transparency matter—and our equipment reflects that.
Should I Shower After My Ozone Sauna Session?
It's best to wait about 20 minutes after your ozone sauna session before showering. Ozone continues to have residual effects on the skin even after treatment, so giving it time allows for deeper absorption and maximizes the therapeutic benefits.
